Your Questions Answered
A Few Things You Might Be Wondering Will my therapist judge me?
Nope. Truly. Therapy is a judgment-free zone. You don’t have to perform, impress, or have it all figured out. You get to show up exactly as you are. That’s enough.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, stuck, or just off, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to come in. Many people start simply because they want to feel better, understand themselves more deeply, or improve their relationships.
What happens in the first session?
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’re hoping for, and a bit about your story. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You set the pace.
Can I meet my counselor first to see if it’s a fit?
Yes. Finding the right therapist matters. You’re welcome to start with an initial session or consultation to see how it feels. Therapy works best when you feel safe and understood.
Is everything confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions that we’ll review together (such as safety concerns). Your privacy is deeply respected here.
How can you help with anxiety or depression?
We’ll work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build tools that actually fit your life. Therapy can help you feel steadier, more connected, and more like yourself again.
Do you prescribe medication?
We don’t prescribe medications, but we collaborate with trusted psychiatric providers when medication support is helpful. You don’t have to navigate that alone.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We’re currently in-network with Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna, Oscar Health, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare.
If you’re using insurance, we’re happy to help verify your benefits in advance so you know what to expect. No insurance maze required on your part 🧭
If you prefer private pay, individual sessions are $175 per hour. Some clinicians also offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots at $75 per hour, depending on availability. Just ask and we’ll let you know what options are currently open.
For couples, some clinicians offer extended 90-minute sessions at $250 per session. These couples sessions are private pay and are not covered by insurance.
What qualifications do your counselors have?
All clinicians are licensed or under licensed supervision and have completed extensive training, including graduate-level education, thousands of supervised clinical hours, multiple licensing exams, and ongoing continuing education every year. In other words: you’re in capable, well-trained hands.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We offer secure virtual sessions for clients who prefer online therapy or need flexibility.
Do you work with couples?
Yes, we provide both individual and couples counseling.
Do you see children?
Yes, we work with children, teens, and adults (availability varies by clinician).
Where are you located?
We’re located in Palm Coast, Florida, with options for both in-person and telehealth sessions.
What hours are you open?
Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM, with limited Saturday availability from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no magic number. Some people come for short-term support, others choose longer-term therapy. We’ll check in regularly and adjust based on your goals.
How often will we meet?
Most people start weekly. Over time, that may shift to every other week or occasional check-ins, depending on your needs.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically about 50 minutes.
Do I have to dress up?
Not even a little. Come comfy.
Can I eat or drink during my session?
Absolutely. Water, coffee, snacks, comfort beverages. All welcome.
Will there be homework?
Sometimes, if it feels helpful. Nothing overwhelming. Always optional.
Do you offer assessments?
Yes. For clients who like a little structure (or just enjoy seeing patterns on paper), we offer several optional assessments to support insight and growth:
- Gottman Relationship Checkup
A research-based tool for couples that highlights strengths and growth areas across communication, conflict, intimacy, and friendship. Think of it as a relationship snapshot that helps guide meaningful conversations in therapy. - Values Bridge Assessment
Helps clarify personal values and identify where disconnects may be happening in relationships. Especially helpful for couples (and individuals) wanting more alignment and understanding. - DiSC Personality Profile
A practical personality assessment that explores communication styles, needs, and tendencies. Great for improving self-awareness and learning how to relate more effectively to others.
These assessments are optional and used as supportive tools, not labels. Your therapist will help you make sense of the results and integrate them into your work together in a grounded, meaningful way.
What questions should I ask during an initial consultation?
You might ask about your therapist’s approach, experience with concerns like yours, or what therapy together might look like. But the most important question is quieter:
Do I feel safe here?
